While we at GoSpiral Farms are avid fans of our Fresh Spirulina in the raw, we are equally excited about finding new ways to add it to our favorite foods. Before our farmland was dedicated to making the freshest and purest spirulina, its primary crop was the California avocado. Guacamole is a well-loved favorite. With the addition of spirulina, it’s taken to the next level of taste and nutrition. Give our recipe a try!

Super Spirulina Guacamole

2 ripe, fresh Avocados, peeled and seeded
1 scallion, green part only, thinly sliced
2 Tbsp. chopped cilantro or Italian flat-leaf parsley
1 Tbsp. lime juice
2 Tbsp GoSprial Fresh Spirulina
1 medium jalapeño, seeds and inner membranes removed, minced
½ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
½ tsp. fresh garlic
½ seeded and diced tomato

 

1) 1 cup cut avocado in half lengthwise going around the seed, then rotate ¼ turn and cut around the avocado again to make quarters. Twist to separate the quarters, and then remove seed. Peel each quarter and place the fruit into a medium bowl. Mash avocado with a whisk or potato masher until chunky.

2) Stir in scallions, cilantro, lime juice, jalapeño, GoSpiral Fresh Spirulina, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano. Taste-test with a tortilla chip and adjust seasoning as desired.
